Whether we like it or not, I strongly believe that the codependent suffers much more than the addict. To begin with, the addict is fine as long as he is left alone, gets his drugs and is in an almost permanent state of elation. Anyway, since , in most cases, the codependen can’t prevent a chemically dependent person from taking drugs,, even if they wanted to, a codependent is as much in a dead-end situation as the junkie.
